Paul Staron
Paul started playing guitar at the age 16, influenced by James Taylor, the Beatles, John Prine, Simon and Garfunkel, Kris Kristofferson, and Eric Clapton. Steely Dan and Stevie Wonder later shaped his music. Paul's professional career began in Connecticut in 1979 with the duo, Staron and Hynes. After relocating to Arizona in 1990, he performed solo and then with an old friend in the duo, Two For the Road in 2000. These performances helped refine his vocal and rhythm guitar skills. A mutual friend introduced Paul and Barry in 2007. Over the past decade, Staron & Warner has grown professionally and expanded the genres in their songbook.
Barry Warner
Barry’s desire to play guitar began at age ten from listening to his older brother, Wayne’s albums by the Beach Boys, the Beatles, the Doors, and Eric Clapton. Later, the music of Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Poco, and the Eagles took the forefront in influencing his musical style. A talented musician, Barry started playing in garage bands in 1975. Over the years, he played rhythm and lead guitar in country rock, new wave, and classic rock bands throughout the Phoenix area. Barry has continued honing his talent as a solo guitarist and, later, adding contemporary Christian and rock music to his repertoire.
Music Style
The acoustic duo of Staron and Warner have created an entertainment experience based on their love of music. Paul Staron and Barry Warner have played together for nine years, blending their resonant harmonies with unique acoustic design, offering music from the 1960s and 1970s. Their playlist is a compilation of popular songs and lesser-known B-side lyrical masterpieces from the likes of James Taylor, the Eagles, Jackson Browne, America, early Fleetwood Mac, Simon and Garfunkel, various Motown artists, and classic soft rock and blues tunes.
Their performances generate animated conversations among their listeners. Not content to only play the big hits, the duo covers chestnuts that received airplay once upon a time but are rarely heard now on commercial radio. Audiences can often sing along with the tunes but aren't quite certain who performed it or the title. It’s a chance to get lost in reverie, sifting through memories of long-lost record collections for clues. Inevitably, Staron and Warner are called upon to reveal the artist, title, and the accompanying album at the end of some songs.
An added benefit of Staron and Warner’s extensive songbook is that they can grant some requests during each performance. Playing at a level that does not interfere with people’s conversations, along with the flexibility to raise the dynamics when the moment calls for it, they make a perfect choice for almost any event. The duo is currently accepting bookings for restaurants, corporate or private parties, weddings, or any occasion requiring acoustic music.

What Clients Are Saying
"Thank you so very much for providing music for our event! Your sound and style was perfect for a relaxed and fun evening. "
Staron & Warner might be my favorite local band as the talented acoustic musicians have a set list that is a killer mix of '70s deep album cuts and somewhat obscure singles such as Bob Welch's 'Sentimental Lady' by Fleetwood Mac and 'Reflections' by Marmalade."
